Adagio of Resistance
The spirits depicted in this work do not exist as single entities,
but as a collective life form composed of multiple individuals.
Each individual, once absorbed into a sludge-like substance and brought to death,
is regenerated with the same appearance and structure (excluding memory).
Through this continuous cycle of death and rebirth,
their existence as a collective is sustained.
The two figures shown here have long existed as a bonded pair.
The lower one has already reached the stage of death,
gradually returning to the sludge,
while the upper one continues to resist,
capturing a fleeting moment of clinging to life.
Through this repeating process of death, rebirth, and circulation,
this work explores the concept of samsara.
